Emerald Lake falls

Emerald Lake, one of our most scenic and difficult tours!
This 2,750 ft climb to the lake covers 5 miles of 3+ to level 4 terrain. It's rooty, rocky and rolly. This is one of the most beautiful rides, offering views of waterfalls, secluded alpine lakes and streams all the while surrounded by the looming canyon walls. The ride back down is killer!!

This ride might be an all day ride. With a minimum of 10 miles and many miles of side trails nearby that offer even better scenery with easier climbs. I like to round out my rides here by going around the lower lake and dam, or by climbing the easy paved path to Pallisade falls.
There's also many miles of downhill roads to cruise and cool down on.

This is Emerald Lake, where the canyon walls come together.

Secret waterfalls to find.....

I rode this one the other day and it was the best ride I've had so far this year. It opens later in the season than most of our high altitude trails. This one reaches up to 9000+ feet.
Almost enough snow left to ski on up there on 7/13 but the trail was dry.
